org/employment-opportunities 29 Hours per Week, Monday-Friday, In-Person Position Position Summary The Accounts Specialist is responsible for recording daily cash receipts and accounts receivable journal entries, and is fully responsible for managing all aspects of student finance accounts, including all student correspondence as well as collaboration with the Admissions Department and the Scholarship Committee.
Duties also include accounting transactions for Summer Sky Camp involving processing payment, tracking delinquent accounts and reconciliation of monthly accounts.
The Accounts Specialist also assists the Controller with monthly cash and account reconciliations, month-end close procedures, and assists with accounts payable as needed.
Essential Functions Adheres to the Summit International School of Ministry Statement of Faith.
Manages student finance accounts including setting up new student accounts, recording student payments in accounting software, maintaining ongoing communication with students regarding school fees, account balances and other questions, and reconciling student accounts.
Serves as the administrator of the Scholarship Committee, reviewing new scholarship applications, tracking scholarship awards and funding, attending weekly Committee meetings, and sending student scholarship grant letters.
Records cash receipts and accounts receivable transactions on a daily basis.
Prepares letters and receipts for donations to the School and Church.
Processes Summer Sky Camp payments, tracks delinquent accounts, reconciles monthly accounts, verifies and records cash sales daily.
Prepares weekly bank deposits and processes at banking institutions.
Reconciles cash bank accounts and third-party payment accounts monthly.
Assists with accounts payable procedures, as needed.
Assists with other duties as needed and assigned.
Additional Responsibilities Actively participates in staff and/or departmental devotions, including but not limited to, worship, speaking, discussion, and prayer.
Attends Student Chapel Services as invited by the President, Department Leader and as time permits.
Must be available and willing to travel to locations required to fulfill essential job functions.
Qualifications and Competencies High school diploma or equivalent required.
2-4 years of accounting experience with cash receipts, journal entries and accounting software.
Detail oriented, organized and ability to multi-task in a noisy environment.
Good verbal and written communication skills, cross-departmental collaboration and adaptability.
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite.
Must maintain a current and valid U.
S.
driver license.
Must be available and willing to work for special events during weekend hours in support of Summit operations throughout the year including Welcome Weekend, Alumni Weekend, Youth Conference, and Graduation.
All employees are required to successfully pass PA Clearances for working with minors and maintain active clearances while employed with Summit.
